There’s so much to do this summer in the Parc de la Villette, an oasis of relaxation in the heart of Paris. As the capital simmers in the sun, you’ll appreciate the many activities along the Canal de l’Ourcq such as Europa Kids, Outdoor Cinema and Paris Beaches ... Read on as the Hotel Interlude gives you the sunny news!

A fun summer with Europa Kids

Europa Kids, the pop-up inflatable amusement park that provides a wealth of fun and excitement for youngsters amidst the greenery of the Parc de la Villette, returns for the 3rd year in a row this summer. Your children are guaranteed plenty of laughter and thrills beneath the Parisian sun until September 2nd! Bouncy castles, labyrinths, ball pools, trampolines and even a colossal 14-metre high and 50-metre long slide will keep your kids happy for hours while you take it easy. Toddlers won’t feel left out of the fun, either, as some attractions are intended just for them. A final tip; we strongly recommend wearing a swimsuit!

Outdoor Cinema; enjoy movies under the stars

As soon as night falls, the summer heat and the excitement of the Parc de la Villette give way to the joys of a free open-air film festival on the Prairie du Triangle. From July 17th to August 18th, 2019, a huge 544 m2 screen hosts XXL screenings of recent movies, classics and old favourites as well as cine-concerts and special programmes. Whether you’re a passionate film buff or simply looking for some entertainment, you’re sure to find something of interest in a rich and varied program with the theme of ‘Tomorrow’, celebrating directorial visions of the future. The films are shown in their original languages with French subtitles.

Make the most of the sun with Paris Beaches

Every year since 2002, the sunshine celebration called Paris Plages (Paris Beaches) has been one of the capital’s flagship events. Each summer, the right bank of the Seine between the Pont Neuf and the Pont de Sully and the banks of the Bassin de la Villette (Quai de Loire) are turned into seaside resorts to the delight of Parisians and visitors alike. Cultural and fun activities, entertainment, refreshments stalls and, of course, swimming and other water sports are on the agenda. Enjoy wonderful moments of relaxation with family or friends during this summer that is already hot… very hot ...

Nearby... the City of Music and the City of Science and Industry

Introduce your children to the joys of discovery at Europe’s largest science museum, the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, where you and your family can learn a thousand and one exciting things. Also, don’t miss a visit to the Cité de la Musique, a complex located in the Parc de la Villette that presents exhibitions and concerts dedicated to all aspects of music.
