One of the ideas is to protect endangered species, by keeping them in settings that resemble their natural environments in the wild.Zoo authorities say a key role now is to educate everyone who visits, so that when you and your family leave you'll have a new view of why and how these animals need to be looked after.
Scientists will constantly be at work at the new-look Zoo, with research ranging from looking at the behavior of animals to fighting the infectious diseases that can kill them. Even the animals' food is the subject of investigation.
