Every year, Parisians look forward to the beautiful season of summer for the nice weather and relaxed atmosphere, but also for the outdoor cinema event that takes place at the Parc de la Villette! You can enjoy the lovely warm evenings along with an exciting programme of movies in the grounds of this large park in the north of Paris from July 18th to August 19th. That’s 25 evenings in which to bring yourself up to speed with the 7th art. Discover the joys of open-air cinema during your sunny summer break at the Hotel l'Interlude!

2018 edition; a tribute to music

The 2018 open-air cinema programme in La Villette promises to be joyful and playful. The focus this year is on music, so there will be screenings of musicals, of course, but also concert footage, biopics of singers, and cult movies of French cinema. You will be able to enjoy the work of the great directors of yesterday and today, including such award winners as Xavier Dolan, François Truffaut, Wes Anderson and Leos Carax. Make yourself comfortable on the soft grass of a La Villette lawn as night draws in and enjoy a movie programme as sweet as summer while perfecting your repertoire of songs!

Pleasant and social evenings with a shared interest

Whether you are in Paris alone, as a couple, with your family or with friends, coming to watch a movie at the La Villette open air cinema is always a deliciously convivial shared experience. You can rent a deckchair to sit on, and a blanket to keep you warm. But you can also take along a picnic blanket and enjoy a romantic or a group alfresco evening meal. Discussions come easily among the gathered cinephiles, so don’t be surprised if your lawn neighbour strikes up a conversation with you! It’s a great communal atmosphere and you’ll share laughter and tears with your new friends while watching the masterpieces of cinema that are featured this year!

Special evenings organised by the festival

In addition to the film screenings, some special evenings are organised by the La Villette Open Air Film Festival. Go light up the Glazart dance floor on July 18th, at the festival's launch. Or enjoy the delights of an Indian walk in the city, echoing the Bollywood movie Devdas on August 10th. Finally, curious foodies will not want to miss the gourmet cruises every Saturday and Sunday on the barge L'Été du Canal, offering a menu filled with the flavours of the film being shown that very evening!

After the screening, return to the comfort of your room at the Hotel L'Interlude, located in the 12th arrondissement. You’ll be charmed by the lovely flower garden overlooked by the rooms, as well as the peaceful family atmosphere of this intimate and elegant hotel.
