Inaugurated in 1863, the Vincennes Hippodrome de Paris is a racecourse where the biggest harness and trot racing events take place, including the prestigious Prix d'Amérique. During your stay at the Hotel l'Interlude, take this opportunity to visit this great sporting venue that’s perfect for a family outing.

A world-famous racecourse

Come and have a sporting experience with a difference at the Vincennes Hippodrome de Paris, rightly considered to be the ‘Temple of Trotting’. Vincennes has a reputation throughout the world as the leading venue for harness racing. Covering an area of 42 hectares at the edge of the Bois de Vincennes, the venue boasts two courses; a larger one of 2 kms and a smaller, illuminated course of 1.6 kms where night races are run. This world-famous racecourse, capable of accommodating 35,000 people, holds 1,255 races each year, including prestigious championships.

The Vincennes racecourse is also a good compromise if you want to try your hand at a little small-scale betting but are not an experienced gambler. It’s on a pleasingly human scale and is particularly welcoming to novices who can take advantage of a special beginners stand and other services such as the first bet offer, etc... At the entrance to the racecourse you can find the programme of the day’s races with start times, race names and runners and riders.

Big races

Every year, the Vincennes Hippodrome de Paris welcomes the most prestigious races. The best known among these is the Grand Prix d'Amérique. At 2,700 metres, it’s the big race of the year in more ways than one. Taking place at the end of January, it brings together the best competitors in the world. This legendary race, which takes place in an exceptional and thrilling atmosphere, has welcomed great champions such as the chestnut French trotter Ourasi, who secured four victories and, going back to the 70s, Bellino II.

The 2,100 metre Grand Prix de France, which has been run each year since 1979, takes place only two weeks after the Prix d'Amérique. This harness race reserved for the best trotters provides a great opportunity for champions to smash records.

June brings the Grand Prix du Président de la République, a trot race that takes place over 2,850 metres. This event crowns the best 4-year-olds.
