A host of entertainment in Paris this summer

This summer, during your stay at the Hotel Interlude, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a rich variety of events in the capital. July 18th to August 21st 2016 sees the long awaited return of Paris Plages. Music lovers will not want to miss the Paris Jazz Festival, which takes place in the Parc Floral until July 31st, 2016. To end August in a blaze of glory, the Rock en Seine Festival rocks out from August 26th to 28th. What is more, all the bandstands of the city offer a diverse programme of entertainment throughout the summer.

Paris Plages

This year more than 5,000 tonnes of sand has been brought in to create temporary beaches from the Bassin de l’Arsenal to the Pont de l’Alma for the period of July 20th to August 21st, 2016. On the occasion of this 15th edition of Paris Plages (Paris Beaches) you can enjoy a fabulous selection of activities, including swimming, pétanque, introductory tai chi sessions and much more. Meanwhile, those seeking pure relaxation can take it easy on sun loungers by the Seine. More beach-oriented free events and good times are to be had on the square in front of the Hôtel de Ville, along the Voie Pompidou and at the Bassin de la Villette.

Paris Jazz Festival

The 22nd edition of the Paris Jazz Festival takes place at the Parc Floral de Paris from June 11th to July 31st 2016. Bringing together established performers and upcoming young artistes, the Paris Jazz Festival has become the foremost event of its kind in France, appreciated by music lovers internationally. To relax in the beautiful surroundings of this lovely botanical park while enjoying great music is a sublime experience. The eclectic programme ranges from traditional to modern and experimental jazz, with a dash of other musical genres and various nationalities added to the richly diverse mix. To give you some idea of its scope, we can tell you that the Paris Jazz Festival 2016 edition will feature the African roots of Cuban jazz, a tribute to Jacques Brel, musicians from Armenia and Switzerland, plus many other musical treats.

Rock en Seine

Each year the Parc de Saint-Cloud plays host to the cream of rock bands and performers under the banner of the Rock en Seine Festival, the latest edition of which will take place from August 26th to 28th. The entire sonic spectrum of rock music is represented at this festival, which has become one of the world’s most popular events for rock aficionados. Come and relax in the sunshine and let yourself be transported by music that packs a punch. To give you a taste of what to expect, IGGY POP, MASSIVE ATTACK and SUM41 will be among the headliners.

A bandstand festival

You can look forward to some 800 events at this year’s Kiosques en Fête (Bandstands Festival). These will be taking place at some 40 Parisian bandstands located within the parks and gardens of the capital. The activities on offer range from educational to sporting, and include theatrical performances, dance, music, and lectures on a variety of subjects. Also scheduled for your enjoyment on the occasion of Kiosques en Fête are 400 free concerts. This is a fun festival to dip into in between your other activities in the capital.
